WARNING: SECURE INIT
If you have downloaded a file that appeared in the Macintosh RoundTable
software library called SECURE INIT, it is suggested that you discontinue
using it. The file has been removed from the software libraries.
Due to what appears to sloppy programming techniques, Secure Init has the
potential to allow a user to damage or delete files residing in the System
Folder. Additionally, the file offers little, if any, protection against
viruses.
Secure Init, by the nature of its operation, will modify certain System Files. While it is not unusual for a program to modify one or more System files, the program must be well designed to insure that the modified files remain viable.
The idea behind Secure Init is interesting, and the program has potential.
However, the negatives outweigh the pluses at this time, especially if used
